Catalytic Converters New Products O2 Sensors

DIRECT FIT OXYGEN SENSORS

Discount Converter, Ltd. has now added to their product line Walker Products O.E. Type, Direct Fit Oxygen Sensors. The oxygen sensor is located in the exhaust system and determines the oxygen content of the exhaust gas.

Since the amount of oxygen in the exhaust gas is a very good indicator of combustion efficiency, it is also the best place to monitor the air fuel ratio. The Oxygen Sensor reports directly to the vehicles on board computer and is an integral part of the vehicles emission system.

Car manufacturers recommend replacing the Oxygen Sensors every 60,000 miles. A faulty Oxygen Sensor is usually the primary reason for the failure of the catalytic converter. If a new converter is installed on a vehicle that has an existing bad O2 sensor, it could destroy the new converter in a very short time.

Car manufactured from 1996 and later have emission systems known as OBDII. This simply means On Board Diagnostics Second Generation. In plain English it means among other things two oxygen sensors, one in front of the converter known as pre-cat and one downstream of the converter known as the post-cat sensor.

Walker Product's Oxygen Sensors are precision made for outstanding performance and manufactured to meet and exceedemissio all original equipment specifications and test requirements.
